Jota Quest Vagalume

Quest, but due to trademark issues with, they renamed themselves Jota Quest ( jota being the Portuguese name for the letter j). The band members include: (vocals), (guitar), (keyboards), 'PJ' – (bass) and (drums). Jota Quest initially stood apart from Minas Gerais' musical tradition by garnering national success with pop rock and -tinged pop.
Eventually the band exposed its influences, including collaborations with Minas Gerais exponents and in as well as jams with and a collaboration with over his hit single '. Jota Quest sold over 4,000,000 copies in Brazil, Latin America and Portugal.

This MTV live album by has all the trademarks of a CD designed and released with the sole purpose of bringing in as much money as possible for the record company and the band itself. There is no real artistic justification for its release, as none of the songs here brings anything new or different in comparison to the studio version.
Nor does this recording document a specifically important moment of the band's development or career. To make things worse, the sound quality is rather poor and the music is sometimes nearly drowned by the screams and noise from the teenage crowd. At best this CD could work as a 'best-of' collection for the band, as all of 's hits, including their cover of 's beautiful 'As Dores do Mundo,' are represented on it. Otherwise this album should be of interest for the die-hard fans of the group only.
